On 3 October 2016, we held our annual Careers Convention for Year 9 & 11 Students. The Convention was attended by 30 training providers, colleges and local businesses. Our students have been given sound advice, which will help them to make informed decisions about ‘options’ and post 16 choices. The “It’s Up To You” theme empowers our students to research as many choices as possible to give them the best start in the workplace. The feedback that we have had from attendees was truly amazing. The overall view was that the students who attended the event were a credit to the School and the local community and that Laurence Jacksons Careers Convention is the best in the area. Students have been discussing the Convention and the careers office has welcomed the genuine interest shown. We will build on this success and offer all our students this brilliant opportunity in the relevant school years.
Attendance was as follows:-
88.6% thought the convention was helpful.
75.33% thought it helped with their career path.
88.0% thought the convention was helpful.
68.3% thought it helped with their career path.
We would like to say a special “Thank You” to our attendees. We could not do this without you!
