Friends Of LJS

Friends of LJS are a small committee of parent and staff volunteers who meet once every half term and co-ordinate money raising events to benefit student life at LJS.  In a school the size of LJS there is always a big demand for extra funds to support and enhance student opportunities.

Money raised by the group has been used to support an extensive range of activities within the school, for example: Costumes Cheerleading Club, Ropes for Climbing Club, Theatre Trips and Transport to events at Middlesbrough College and Teesside University.

PSA money is also used to support the many school events that benefit the students and the wider community, such as the Annual Dance show held each year.

As parents of LJS students you can support the grup in many ways; attending meetings, helping at 'Friends of LJS' events and supporting various social events such as quiz nights. We are also very eager to hear of new ideas to raise money.

In addition to the above, the group also runs a 200 club to raise funds. By entering the 'Friends of LJS 200 Club' you are eligible to monthly prize draws of £75, £50, £25 and a summer draw of £500 for a nominal £2 per month stake. The 200 club has the potential to be a major money earner and is always keen to attract new members.

Attached to this letter is an optional 'Friends of LJS' involvement form, we hope that you will appreciate the massive benefits this organisation brings to the students at LJS and consider future involvement.
