I am very pleased to announce that the governing body has appointed Mrs Catherine Juckes to the permanent position of Headteacher at Laurence Jackson School, effective from 01 September 2018.
The selection process on Monday 12th March consisted of:
- Interview with members of the student council and a cross section of staff
- Panel interviews on:
- Leadership & Management;
- Teaching and Learning.
- Performance data presentation to a senior leadership team member, governors and local authority representative.
- Learning walks
- 1 to 1 interview with Mrs Wheatman, Headteacher.
On 13th March three out of the five candidates presented to the governor panel on what they would have as their three key priorities, were they to be selected as Headteacher. This was then followed up by an in depth interview on their suitability for the position.
Throughout the two days of interviews and presentations, Mrs Juckes showed that she had all the qualities and attributes that we are looking for in a Headteacher to take Laurence Jackson School forward into a bright new future. Governors were impressed with her energy, commitment, vision and strategic thinking. The decision to appoint her was unanimous by the governor selection panel and whole-heartedly supported by the governing body at an Extraordinary Full Governor Meeting held on 13th March.
Governors, staff and students know that you will want to join us in congratulating Mrs Juckes and wishing her well in her new post.
