The Scholar Award is a diverse and engaging programme available to all students at Laurence Jackson School. It is designed to provide enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom allowing students to develop their academic, cultural and aspirational goals.

Scholar Award students can select aspects of the programme that are of particular interest to them ranging from university visits and masterclasses to entering competitions or completing independent learning.

Students claim points for activities completed that lead to an award at 4 different levels; Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Music

Being part of the Scholar Award has had a positive impact on me. I attended the Law taster session at Prior Pursglove College and it was good because I got to see what the law course is like.

I thought the visit to Tudor Croft was great because I was able to learn a little bit about the local history that I never would have thought it was liked to it and potting the plants was great fun.

I really enjoyed reading the poems and admiring the stunning artwork in the Lost Words exhibit at Kirkleatham Museum. I also learned a lot about the history of our local area.
